I notice many professionals interview for jobs with the various State of Wisconsin agencies; but the scheduling of candidates means they don't ever really see each other.
This practice prevents the synergy that would arise if we, as candidates, were to learn a few things about each other and subsequently expand our job search network.
I therefore devised the idea to publicly announce online, under a pseudonym to avoid stalkers, as to where and when I'll interview; and then leave my business card in the waiting room, post-interview, in an envelope with an explanation to the next interviewee that I'm networking with fellow interviewees and would be interested in touching base about professional interests.
My fellow professionals are welcome to partake in this practice, with the end goal of synergizing through sharing. This free flow of social connections is part of the so-called "sharing / gift economy," so get aboard before the train leaves the depot.
My next interview is Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. for Call Center Agent at the Wisconsin Benefits Center of the Unemployment Insurance Division. Those of you who are also interviewing for that position, know where that is.
Ask for SenatorJPO if you're among the 10:00 a.m. or 11:00 a.m. interviewees! Chances are that you'll see me on your way out (if at ten) or way in (if at 11).
